In this video I am making whole wheat potato bread in a bread machine, without the use of dry milk powder and vital wheat gluten. You can make it vegan by using vegan butter instead. This is my adaptation of the recipe I found here:

The bread comes out light, soft, and not dense.
The bread machine used in this video is a very old Breadman brand machine. If you are looking into buying a bread machine here are two very affordable ones that work very well based on my research:
Here is the list of ingredients:
-1 1⁄8 cups warm water (90 degrees)
-4 tablespoons butter or 4 tablespoons margarine, softened and cut into pieces
-2 cups whole wheat flour
-1 cup bread flour (I used all-purpose flour instead, and it worked well)
-1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
-3 tablespoons granulated sugar
-1⁄4 cup dry instant potato flakes (the ones you’d use to make mashed potatoes)
-1 1⁄2 teaspoons active dry yeast, or instant yeast (I used SAF-instant, link below)
I keep my instant yeast in the freezer to keep it fresh for years.
