Mélanie Tralant of Champagne Tarlant, of a family of vignerons in the Champagne region of France (in the Marne Valley area) shows me how to elegantly pop open a bottle of Champagne with style and an irresistible accent.

This video was shot in April 2016 at Champagne Tarlant winery in Oeuilly, France.
Big thanks to friendly and smily Mélanie for sharing her expertise and her kindness, as well as to her brother Benoit for welcoming me on the property.
Disclaimer: the French do not all open bottles of Champagne as elegantly as Mélanie does in this video. Most do let the cork pop loudly like most people do. But I have found indeed that Champagne experts, in particular in the Champagne region, do make a point of not letting the cork explode, and to rather make it pschitt mildly for a more sophisticated feel/look.
