Rushikonda Beach is located in Visakhapatnam on the coast of Bay of Bengal in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The beach is maintained by the state tourism board, APTDC.

However, this assertion was contradicted by Google Earth imagery, raising questions about its accuracy. The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) allowed APTDC to proceed with the project, even though it appeared to violate building regulations, leading to public protests by civil society.
