The dates for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 are expected to be announced today. The Election Commission may declare a single-phase voting schedule, with voting likely to take place in the second week of February.

This election holds special significance as it will mark the final major event under Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, who is set to retire on February 18. With over 1.55 crore registered voters, including 84.49 lakh male voters and 71.73 lakh female voters, the stage is set for another heated political contest.

Revisiting the 2020 election results, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged victorious, winning a massive 62 out of 70 seats, while the BJP managed only 8 seats. The Congress, on the other hand, suffered a complete wipeout, failing to secure even a single seat.

The announcement of the final voter list has added to the buzz, but not without controversy. AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Raghav Chadha recently alleged that voter names were being removed unfairly from the list. However, the District Election Officer of New Delhi has denied these allegations, calling them baseless.
