Ekambareswarar Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is located in the town of Kancheepuram, in the state of Tamilnadu.
Ekambareswarar Temple is one of the five major Shiva temples or the Pancha Bootha sthal. Pancha Bhoota is the five elements. This temple represents the element - the Earth. The other four temples in this category of Panch Bhoota are: For the element water it is in Thiruvanaikaval known as Jambukeswara , the element fire is in Thiruvannamalai known as Arunachaleswara temple, the element air is in Kalahasti and finally the element for space/sky is in Chidambaram known as Thillai Nataraja Temple.
