Following on from our video where I compared an SMSL D400 EX dual AKM Chip DAC with a Topping D90 Mk lll, dual Sabre chip DAC, in this video I talk about the much loved R2R Ladder DAC concept, focusing specifically on Denafrips' brand new Pontus 15th. On the 7th October, 2024 we will release a Pt 3 'DAC Shootout' conclusion video, where we will compare the Topping D90, the SMSL D400 EX, the Topping D10, Sugden DAC4 / DAP 800 with the Denefrips Pontus 15th. To do this, we will make sound recordings, directly from the outputs of each dac and upload them to our website, for free download, so you can compare at home on your own systems.
