VERSE:
The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me. (PSALM 118:7 KJV)
EXPLANATION:
Blessed be the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because the Lord has triumphed for you, you will bear your troubles. "The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me." (Psalm 118:7) Today we will meditate on the promised Word. Yes, dear friends, the Lord is on your side today and will help you in every situation.
Perhaps you will say, "I have many enemies. Everyone advises against me, expecting me to fall. They want to put me in jail. They want me to quit my job. They think I am going to lose my life," you say. "Last year, it was over. But I did not succeed," you say. But God says, "Today you will overcome those who hate you."
David had a similar experience. His enemies were waiting for him to fall. David must have felt very alone in such moments, but he had faith in God. "The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?" (Psalm 118:6). He declared, "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him." (Psalm 28:7). David boldly proclaimed his faith in God’s protection and victory.
In all of David's prayers, faith, determination, and hope can be found. Whenever we profess our faith in prayer, it is that statement of faith that brings us hope and courage. Look at how faithfully David says, "The LORD is on my side."
A confession of faith is an expression of our love and trust in the Lord. It is not about asking for what we need, but it is a prayer of faith. The prayer of faith is to look forward with hope to what the Lord will give us.
For example, consider Psalm 23. In that psalm, King David does not say, "I need this" or "I need that." Instead, he declares, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters." (Psalm 23:1-2). He is content, knowing the Lord takes care of him. We too can make a statement of faith in prayer.
Lord, You are always with me. Thank You. Thank You for not leaving me or forsaking me. I am not afraid because You are with me. We should learn to make statements of faith in prayer, like, "When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up." (Psalm 27:10). Then the presence of God will surround us sweetly.
Confess with faith the promises of God: The Lord is all around me. He is holding my right hand. His presence brings me joy and happiness. "For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall." (Psalm 18:29). "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." (Psalm 91:1). Declare in faith, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." (Psalm 23:6).
"I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted." (Psalm 116:10). Recalling David's words, the apostle Paul exclaimed, "We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak." (2 Corinthians 4:13).
Do you feel like you're about to fall or die today? Do you think there are counsels against you? Do not be alarmed. The Lord stands beside you to help you. You will overcome your enemies, for God will give you the victory. Don't be afraid or dismayed. God is with you.
