Sarasota County held a groundbreaking ceremony on June 14 for the new North Port Connector, which will extend the county's interconnected trail system. In addition to the northern extension of The Legacy Trail, there will be new connections and trail improvements to enhance the City of North Port’s connectivity to The Legacy Trail, which opened in 2008.
