ORIGIN:
Created by Don Javier Delgado Corona, owner and bartender of La Capilla in Mexico.
RECIPE SOURCE:
Various people have this modern take on this classic, but the ratios I enjoyed the most came from a website called Love and Lemons.

How to make a Fresh Paloma cocktail:
INGREDIENTS USED (IN ORDER POURED):
2 oz (60 ml) fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 oz (15 ml) fresh lime juice
1/4 oz (7.5 ml) simple syrup
2 oz (60 ml) silver tequila
2 oz (60 ml) soda water (chilled)
Garnish with a grapefruit slice
EQUIPMENT USED:
Old fashioned glass
Bar spoon
INSTRUCTIONS:
Get yourself a plate of kosher salt. Run a lime wedge along the rim of your old fashioned glass. Gently dip it into salt a couple of times until completely covered. You can also just do half if you don't want too much salt or you can really dig it in if you want a ton of salt. Tajin chili lime salt also works well with this drink.
Fill the glass with ice and add the ingredients as listed above. Yes, I add the ice first, I like the ingredients to get super chilled over the ice and this drink doesn't last long enough for the ice to melt. Stir for a few seconds, just enough to mix it. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit in the glass (or a lime wheel on the rim will look just as nice).
NOTE: I don't like to name specific brands of alcohol because everyone has their favorites and it takes away from the core build of the drink. Also, I'm always discovering new brands and trying them in these very cocktails. However, if you would like suggestions, feel free to put it in the comments and I'll post the brands that I enjoy.
