Watch the City of Carmel's Memorial Day Ceremony to remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

The ceremony includes remarks by City Attorney Douglas Haney and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Clay Township Trustee, Doug Callahan with students from Midwest Academy in Carmel. The keynote speaker will be Mr. Robert Spanogle, National Adjutant of The American Legion for 26 years of his 36 years on staff of The American Legion. That service included serving as the Executive Director of The American Legion's Washington, D. C. Headquarters and as Director of Internal Affairs at the Legion's National Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. Girl Scout Troop 330 will help pass out programs and carnations.

Members of the local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) posts will participate in a flag raising ceremony and all attending will have the opportunity to place flowers at the Memorial to commemorate all military veterans. Patriotic music at the ceremony will be provided by Carmel Elementary music teacher, Cynthia Ensign Baney and Blair Clark.
