Here's a tutorial of how I restore and seal my table tennis rackets.
All of my table tennis blades are sealed. This preserves the blade handle longer, keeping the resell value higher even after years of use. It also maintains the qualities of the blade, like weight, as the seal prevents moisture to be absorbed by the wood.
Lastly, I like the feeling of a smooth, hard plastic-feel, in the handle. Makes it less slippery and easier to handle.
