Cape Town, South Africa - 28 October 2023: Legendary Spanish maestro, Placido Domingo, launched the 30th edition of The World Opera Competion at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town. Domingo was hosted by Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis and Artscape CEO Marlene Le Roux. After the press conference Domingo and a team of judges started reviewing the performances of the first entrants into the competition. The competition runs until 5 November when the winner will be announced.
