EJ Tackett completed the Triple Crown by winning the season-opening U.S. Open. Jason Belmonte won the Tournament of Champions for a record-breaking fourth time, which also extended his all-time majors record to 15. Anthony Simonsen became the youngest player to win five majors (he was already the youngest to win one through four) by winning the USBC Masters. Tackett won the PBA World Championship for the second time in his career, giving him two majors in a single season for the first time. Kevin McCune won his first title in the PBA Players Championship and joined his grandfather, Don, and father, Eugene as the first three-generation family of PBA Tour champions.
