(27 Feb 1980) Visit of a special envoy from Oman, Sayyid Faher bin Taimur Al Said, Deputy Premier for Security and Defence of the Sultanate of Oman. A reception and luncheon in his honour is hosted by Union Home Minister Zail Singh. Said meets with various officials including Chief of Army Staff General Malhotra, Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Latif and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Pereira. At the Taj Hotel, Said meets with former prince ex Colonel Tej Singh of Ratlam. Having renounced the world, he is now called Swami Jai Chaitan of Ganeshpuri and wears saffron clothes.
