Day 1 Shailaputri 🌺

Shailaputri, is the daughter of the Mountain King Himavat, and is a manifestation and form of the Hindu mother goddess Mahadevi, representing herself as the pure form of goddess Patvati. She is the first Navadurga venerated during the first day of Navaratri, and is a reincarnation of Goddess Sati.

Navaratri is an annual and one of the most revered Hindu festival observed in the honour of Mother Goddess Durga. It spans over nine nights and ten days. On this occasion Goddess Durga worshiped as Navadurga with nine forms. The nine forms are considered the nine stages of Durga during the nine-day long duration of the war with demon-king Mahishasura, where the tenth day is celebrated as the Vijayadashami.
