I made the decision to take the overnight ferry with Roo from Puerto Montt to Chaiten. I was told that Roo would not be allowed inside the sleeping salon....understandable....but was told that I would be able to set up my tent and sleep on deck with her. Once onboard, it went back and forth as to whether I could or could not. The possibility that the winds could pick up in the night were a safety concern. This video follows our night onboard all the way to Chaiten.....gateway to the Carretera Austral.
