Dan Barker is a former evangelical Christian minister who became an atheist and is now co-president of the Freedom From Religion Foundation, with his wife Annie Laurie Gaylor, working to keep state and church separate and to educate the public about the views of nontheists. He is the author of the books Losing Faith in Faith; Godless: How An Evangelical Preacher Became One of America’s Leading Atheists; Life Driven Purpose: How an Atheist Finds Meaning; Just Pretend: A Book for Freethought Children; GOD: The Most Unpleasant Character in All Fiction (with Richard Dawkins); Free Will Explained; and Mere Morality (Fall 2018). Since 1985, Dan has participated in more than 130 public formal debates with theists and has lectured on hundreds of college campuses around the world.
