Welcome to my ultimate guardian class guide for Lord of the Rings Online in 2023. In this tutorial, we're doing a complete walkthrough of the guardian class in LOTRO, looking at its versatility as the best tank in this MMORPG, but also its flexibility in terms of DPS for leveling and beyond.

No guardian playthrough tutorial would be complete without smashing some orc skulls into the dust, so we also take our tank out into Mirkwood for a little bit of hands-on combat so you can see the class in action.

The guardian started off as the only real tank class in the Lord of the Rings Online when the game first launched, but over the years they've added other tank classes that can handle encounters reasonably well. I still think this is the ultimate tank class when you run the blue line, but others may have their own opinions. Personally, I think the red line DPS spec for leveling is the bees knees, but everyone has their own take on things!
