Elma Moeloek had a unique pathway into her current field of work. After spending her childhood in Indonesia and the USA, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Indonesia. She completed a Certificate in Finance at the University of California, Berkeley and then earned an MBA degree in International Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham in the UK, where she lived for 17 years. She started her career in the finance industry, working for banks and financial firms across Europe and Southeast Asia, such as ABN AMRO, HBOS plc, and Aon Consulting, before switching to the teaching profession. As a UK qualified teacher, she taught in a number of secondary schools in the UK, across different stages from Key Stage 3, General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) to A Levels.
