Devoted Dracula fans made a trip to Transylvania on the trail of the real Count Dracula -- Vlad, also known as The Impaler. They made the trek to attend the first World Dracula Conference and take a look at the Count's old haunts. On their pilgrimage, Drac fans followed in the footsteps of the 15th-century Vlad, who forced Turkish armies to retreat to Transylvania at the end of spikes. Then it was on to Brasov for a bloody dinner of red meat on spikes. It was in Brasov that the real Dracula impaled Saxon merchants and feasted on raw meat as the Germans writhed in agony.
