The National Trust’s Attingham Park, one Shropshire’s finest country estates.
Dating back to the 18th-century, it has been the setting for astutely accumulated fortunes, overspending and financial ruin, a story of love and neglect, revival and rediscovery.
Bequeathed to the National Trust in 1947 by Thomas, 8th Lord Berwick.
Attingham was owned by five generations of the Hill family and built to impress, the fine Georgian mansion sits in a 4,000 acre estate comprising of rivers, woodland, parkland, walled garden, orchard, deer park and pleasure grounds.
