Thai long boats are powered by small or big automible engines, depending on how fast you want to go or how big of a boat you have. They are vehicles of the Thai rivers, serving as taxi's; tour boats; ferrys; supply and freight. Not to mention the many boats used for fishing. We went to the Amphawa Floating Market, Samut Songkhram, on the Amphawa River. This river starts around Lop Buri, I was told flows into the Gulf of Siam. Our driver's boat is over 50 years old, given to him from his father. He took us to 4 Thai Wat's (Temples) and 1 Indian Hindu temple. Our ride last over an hour and half and really enjoyable and interesting.
