Like thyroid cancer being more common and less aggressive in women than men. Dr. Davies concludes that early-stage papillary thyroid cancer is found more often in women. The sex differences in the rates of other cancer types are much less notable. Additionally, she concludes that mortality due to thyroid cancer is similar across sexes, however, case fatality is higher in men because they present with fewer early-stage cancers, fooling us into thinking that they have more aggressive cancer.
