On May 19 2009, a group of activists visited the WWF-Netherlands head office to protest against this organisation's initiative the 'Round Table on Responsible Soy' (RTRS). Later this month, the RTRS will decide on a set of criteria for 'responsible' soy. These criteria allow GM RoundupReady soy to be called 'responsible', do not prevent soy expansion, and are vague and weak. There is no support for the RTRS in producer countries like Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay. Peasant organisations have strongly objected to the RTRS. WWF and Dutch development organisation Solidaridad are driving forces behind the RTRS. You can sign a petition to these organisations on www.toxicsoy.org
