“Come On Down to Quincy’s” kicks off Aminé's LIFT cycle, a prelude to his official video for “REDMERCEDES,” which premieres April 7 on Vevo. The LIFT presentation will also include a live performance of a yet-to-be-released track and an extended profile piece. A nod to the low-budget TV commercials of the ‘70s and ‘80s, it features Team Aminé taking over a Nissan dealership in Valencia, CA for an afternoon of deals, deals, deals. Thaddeus, Brad, Chad and Craig are waiting for you, so if you need new wheels with an ice cream paint job, you’re in the right spot.
Aminé does things a bit differently. When his “Caroline” video arrived at the start of last summer, it instantly caught our eye. Humor, style, wit, and an irresistible hook turned first-time viewers into to full-time fans. We weren’t alone. The indie MC from Portland, Oregon pretty much knocks out everyone who encounters his music. In 10 short months, magazines, Web sites, and lots of new listeners have gotten on board. The 22-year old rapper, who cites Kanye West and André 3000 as key inspirations, went from regional hero to national buzz artist. He also became a Vevo dscvr artist, and now, with the arrival of “Come On Down to Quincy’s,” he’s part of our LIFT program as well. In a little less than a year, that “Caroline” video, with Aminé and his pals giving props to Quentin Tarantino while romping at a fast-food drive-in, earned itself more than 130 million views.
