On May 11th, 2022 we took a day trip to go see the California coast of Big Sur. We started just south of Carmel-by-the-sea and traverse southbound. The places I visited in order:
1. China Lookout, Carmel-by-the-sea
2. Bixby Creek Bridge, Big Sur
3. Pfeiffer Beach
4. Parlington Cove
5. McWay Falls
6. Gamboa Point
7. Wild Flowers In May
8. Big Sur Coast Hidden Beach
We couldn't do the whole Big Sur coast due to it only being a day trip and we only have so much time. Regardless, it was still beautiful and amazing. I wished I added the photos we took into this video as well, because it would have made this video so much better. China Lookout was just like any other trails alongside the coast, where you can just pull over and enjoy the coast and roam around the tide pools looking for different sea creatures. Bixby Bridge was just a bridge, not much to do there unless you want to try and hike all the way down onto the beach below. We we tried but gave up due to it being super steep. There might be a trail from the vista point but we didn't bother trying due to lack of time. Pfeiffer Beach was beautiful and amazing during the day and sunset. The only con was that it was super windy and sands were always getting in our faces and everything else. lol Although, the sands getting blown around did make for awesome photos and videos. I did not expect much from Parlington Cove but it proved me wrong. It was beautiful and a must visit. The state park that have tunnel access to get close to McWay Falls was closed on this day, so we had to pull over on the road and just view it from there. Some people said that view is better than if would've enter the state park to view it. Gamboa Point was just another random stop and I decided to trek down to Gamboa Point, overlooking Gamboa Point Beach. It was beautiful but super windy, narrow, and slippery. So, be cautious if you try to trek to the point as well. It was beautiful nonetheless. "Wild Flowers In May" was just a random stop, and yes that's what it is called according to Google Maps. lol Perfect place to stop for iconic photos. Then just across the road and over a staircase and through a cattle grazing field you'll find Big Sur Hidden Beach. That's what Google Map called it as well. It is super beautiful and there were only two other people there beside us until the cows scared them away and it was just us and the beach. With the sun starting to set, that beach was amazing and we took some super iconic photos. Loved it!
Many of the video clips in this video were taken in 4K 60 FPS and some in 4K 30FPS because I forget to change the settings. lol Same as my other videos, it was taken with my Huawei Mate 40 Pro using only the wide angle camera with the help of my iSteady X2 gimbal. Like always, no color editing or video editing was done to any of the video clips I recorded except for merging them and adding transitions. So, what you see if what was recorded exactly from my smartphone.
Also, please click to watch it in 1440P or 4K even if your device don't support it, as long as that option is available. For some reason it makes the video quality look so much better than just watching it in 1080P or below. Still haven't figured out why. Thanks for watching and enjoy!
