On this occasion thanks to the owner we had the privilege of being not only passenger but we also had the opportunity to take the wheel of this beast here are some of our thoughts.
Our first impression of the car was that not only was the clutch predictable and smooth despite the increase in power and pressure on the engine but the steering at slow speeds was near on perfect for a daily driver. Little did we know this was just the tip of the ice Berg.
It was at the moment we even squeezed the accelerator even slightly that we were pleasantly surprised, not only was the inter cooler dump valve combination MUCH louder than we expected but the initial pick up was truly and honestly quite remarkable. The owner last dynod the car at +-160wkw before some of his supporting mods and from what our butt dyno could tell us we'd say that is a rather conservative estimate.
We can fully believe that this car gives golf gti drivers headaches as even on our brief blasts up and down the road that we could feel the acceleration and speed. This coupled with the engaging steering made for a delightful drive. Between the hissing from the dump valve, the throatyness of the exhaust and the engagement from the 3 pedals in the cabin this is one Kia we wouldn't mind piloting everyday
