Visual Approaches at FUK.

The RJFF RWY 34 Visual Approach Guidance Video was shared to all of you to create awareness on all terrain-related threats, help you navigate the approach and, mitigate all potential terrain-related events. It is important that we review this video, in addition to the other documents, to help us better prepare for this flight. Remember, correct timing is Important !

Based on our SOP and as emphasised in the video, downwind track is flown for 3 seconds /100 ft, which is adjusted for wind (+ 1 sec / 1 KT of wind) and base turn started prior to the rising terrain.

The arrival briefing is equally important so both pilots have the same mental picture on how the approach will be flown, with the PM consistently and proactively supporting the PF to ensure that the flight is executed according to plan.
