Every designer that will ever exist will run into this: A request by a client that completely goes against design principles. Bad design requests can mostly be avoided before they even occur (which I explain in today's video), but sometimes, things are out of your hands and you must know how to handle such a situation when it arises.
I, for one, have definitely experienced such a situation (more than once) and after 17 years of freelancing, I've got a thing or two to share on how to tackle this scenario.
Do not neglect knowing how to handle this situation in advance as running into such an ordeal unprepared can lead to conflict, the client respecting you less, and/or a burned bridge. Prepare accordingly (by watching this video), and handle these requests with elegance so that both you and the client end up with a W at the end of the day.
Have you ever run into this situation? Tell me about it in the comments!
