This is a short video of TopHobbyTrains Kato N Scale SD70 Sound package including custom wired installation of the LokSound Micro ver 4 and custom independent lighting of the head light, rear light number boards and ditch lights. This model shows the grade crossing feature of the LokSound Micro decoder. Ditch lights can be set up steady on with flash as horn blows called grade crossing logic. They can also be set up steady on with no flash or off with flash at grad crossing. The number boards are lit independently any time there is power to the rail. This is a nice feature as many locomotives sitting on a siding have the lights off but the boards are lit. It also is handy to see if power to a particular loco is on. TopHobbyTrains has a custom sound mix for this locomotive including curve squeal, rail flange squeal and air releases. One of the great features of the ver 4 decoder is the diesel notch up and notch down. We take advantage of this in our custom sound project.
