Hundreds of people took to the streets of Gangtok to protest against the rape and murder of an 11-year old minor girl at Pangthang. The protest rally was held at Amdo-Golai By-Pass, Gangtok.
A 29 year old man lured the child on her way back home from school. Took her to Fambonglho Jungle at Pangthang. Raped her and fearing that she would go and tell her parents, strangled her with her school tie. Accused Pritam Sharma is in police custody now.
