Ah, 'USS Robin'. Such a fun topic to look into. Mostly because HMS Victorious, the ship in question, is an interesting topic in her own right.
Now, it's important to note that there's no real evidence- that I'm aware of -in relation to Victorious ever being called 'USS Robin'. Not officially, anyway. Jokingly, maybe, but not officially.
Still, her service with the United States Navy- and my favorite ship, Saratoga -is worth looking at in detail. It did, after all, help the Royal Navy out a lot. The kind of live fire training that would help when they returned to the Pacific in 1945.
And, of course, it also helped the United States Navy out at their lowest point.
