Air sharing is an important skill even though you hope you will never have to use it. This demonstration has many critical attributes including hand signals.
Air depletion and use of the alternate source are originally taught separately in the PADI Open Water Diver course and then combined, as required in the Divemaster and IDC Skill Circuit. This demonstration takes a realistic approach where the diver out of air will first grab their buddy's alternate air source before giving an out of air signal. You can add the time requirement of 30 seconds at any moment.
