African American spirituals have been called the earliest sacred music of the United States. Although it is difficult to determine exactly when spirituals were created, thousands of spirituals originated during the time of dark night of slavery, and remarkably have been passed down from generation to generation. Join us at The Bridge as we explore the power and inspiration that African American spirituals provide during this Lenten Season.
