One way of rearing queens is to take one day old larvae and put them into a queen cell builder. The larvae are put onto a cell bar in cups, then placed into a queenless colony for a short time to get the queen cells started.
By putting the queen into a cupkit she will lay in the cups that can then be put into the cellbar.
