Mr. Poddar emphasized the role of MSMEs in India's inclusive development. MSMEs are vital to India’s sustainable development, fostering economic growth, generating employment, and driving innovation. They advance inclusive progress, strengthen rural and urban communities, and support environmental sustainability through green practices. MSMEs enhance India’s self-reliance, sustain livelihoods, and align with global sustainable development objectives. Mahesh Poddar is a successful MSME, Technocrat, Entrepreneur, Former Rajya Sabha MP (2016–22), and an influential leader in the steel wire industry. As Chairman of the Steel Wire Manufacturers Association of India for three years and Director of Wire Association International, USA, he has significantly participated & represented Industry Issues. He has Several first on the Technology side and also served as President of the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI), Jharkhand Small Industries Association, and Junior Chamber International, Ranchi. He has represented BJP India at BRICS, and was also part of a member delegate of BJP India, Invited by the Communist party of China for a Party to Party dialogue, contributing to international economic consultations. In Parliament, he was a member of the Standing Committee on Finance, Urban Development and the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Road Transport, Energy and many more committees.
