Katherine, Northern Territory, has a bit of a bad reputation for indigenous crime. You could understandably feel a bit unsafe in these parts, but we found a way to see the best Katherine has to offer, and feel completely safe while we did it!
We find the best free-camp we've possibly ever stayed at, launched a rescue mission for some fellow travellers who got themselves quite bogged and hung up in a tree with their caravan in the middle of nowhere.
We found some sensational hot springs, waterfalls and lookouts. We also discovered some more interesting history about life in the World War 2 era in the Top End.
If you are planning to travel the Top End, we'd suggest you don't miss Katherine, but watch this video to see some of the great sites you can check out as well.
