Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number PW2028C. And that's on tire size 265/65-R18. These cable tire chains are gonna be a great accessory for when you're driving on the road in wintery conditions. They feature a ladder-style pattern which is gonna be great for starts and stops. Unlikely a d-link or v-bar style, the spring rolls are gonna provide you with adequate traction when driving through light to medium snow or ice.A few other great things about these chains is that since they use a roller style, they're gonna provide you with a smoother ride on the road. They're also gonna meet Department of Transportation requirements in all states. They have a maximum speed rating of 30 miles per hour and they come in a quantity of two. Now we'll show you how easy they are to get installed. So to start off, we're gonna be putting tire chains on the rear tires of our Tahoe.
It is four wheel drive. If you'd like, you can put them on the front, but we're gonna put ours on the rear because it's mostly driven by the rear axle. It's a good idea to lay out your tire chains, make sure there's no kinks, twists, or any tangles in them. You'll also want to be sure that your hooks are facing up away from our tire. The lever needs to be on the outside of our tire and it needs to be facing towards the front of our Tahoe. Now let's go ahead and install them. I'm gonna grab here in the center and just drape them over my tire. Now we want to make sure that the cable is even on both sides.
So a good way to check that is to grab in the front, feel around to the back, and make sure it's the same. Then we can finish draping on our tire, and we're gonna connect the back side first. So here on the back side what we wanna do is take our eyelet and our stoppers and connect them together. You'll notice we have quite a few stoppers. We don't want to connect too many together, though, because then we won't be able to connect the front side evenly. For this tire, I'm gonna start off by connecting the to the second stopper. We can always change it later.
Now let's connect the front side. Here on the front, we're gonna kind of do the same thing only this time we've got a lever that's gonna help us tighten it down and lock it into position. Let's go ahead and connect as many as we can through the eyelet. I can definitely get the second one.Now note that it's okay to connect to one or less stoppers from the other side. With this attached to the third one, let's go ahead and fold it backward and connect our lever to the cable here. Then we can go ahead and repeat the same process with the tire on the opposite side. Once we get both chains installed, the manufacturer does recommend using a rubber adjuster, and you can pick up two of these with part number PW105.What this is gonna do is it's gonna help draw that cable inward around the tire, so it stays nice and tight when we're driving in the wintery conditions.
Want to be sure the hook is facing away from the tire. We'll just connect the top and we'll go across and we'll just work our way around. You can see how it's starting to pull that cable inward. That's what we want. Now it is a good idea to drive a short distance, stop, get out, check to see if you need to make any adjustments. And that's gonna complete our test fit of the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains, part number PW2028C on our 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe.
