There have been remarkable advances during this time. Even as Starship achieves new milestones, SpaceX has not shifted its focus away from the lunar lander project—in fact, they’ve even intensified their efforts. Kent Chojnacki, deputy director of NASA’s Human Landing System (HLS) Program Office at Marshall Space Flight Center, recently shared in an interview: "I could see SpaceX’s innovation and I could see that we’re not dictating things when they may have better ideas, we haven’t hemmed them in.”
And until now the life compartment of the HLS Starship has been revealed.
“We have also looked at the crew cabin, the mockup, the visuals of some of the sleeping quarters, the laboratory, and everything else that is being built as mockups at Boca Chica. It’s sitting at Boca Chica right now,” Kent Chojnacki said.
