"The Miraculous Novena to the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompeii"
(NOTE: You can say this 54 days Novena any time following the pattern, 27 days of petitions first, and then 27 days of thanksgiving prayer. Say this prayer for any difficult situation and pay close attention to the directives of the Holy Spirit. Among the many writings and prayers of Blessed Bartolo Longo, there is the "Novena of Petition," composed in July of 1879. Stricken with typhoid fever, Bartolo Longo wrote this novena to request graces in desperate cases. Each day, he sought inspiration and made corrections before the Picture of the Virgin of the Rosary. However, as his illness worsened, he believed that the only remedy was to bring the Picture of the Virgin from the Chapel to his bedroom. Seeking intercession from Saint Catherine of Siena, he suddenly recovered. Since then, the Heavenly Mother has granted graces to anyone who prays with the Novena written by her devout follower. In 1894, at Arpino, Italy, Saint Catherine of Siena appeared to a dying young girl and invited her to recite the Novena together. After completing the prayer, the girl was completely cured. The Novena was approved by Pope Leo XIII on November 29th, 1887.

Among the many people miraculously cured by Our Lady of Pompeii is the daughter of Commendatore Agrelli of Naples. In 1884, Our Lady personally appeared to her and instructed her: "Whenever you wish to obtain graces from me, make three Novenas of Petition, recite the fifteen decades of my Rosary, and then offer three Novenas of Thanks." Following these instructions, young Fortunatina Agrelli was miraculously healed.
