This is a video on how to fix path of exile application launch issue. Hello Everyone. So I've basically spent the last two days trying to figure out why Path of Exile won't launch when you click on start. It will also not start when I try to launch it via the stand alone client that you can download from the website. So apparently the issue according to what I've read is due to a corruption with the wmi repository, which was corrupted probably with a windows update.

NOTE: DO NOT TRY THIS UNLESS YOU'RE POSITIVE ABOUT IT, IT CAN BREAK SOME APPLICATIONS THAT USES THE WMI REPOSITORY.

Symptoms:
- When clicking on play or double clicking on the desktop icon the game will not start
- the only thing that gets logged is an error in the event viewer which states something like the following: "Faulting application name: PathOfExile.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x609a0bfc"

What I've tried:
- reinstall/redownload the game many times
- reinstall gpu drivers
- install an older gpu driver
- reinstall steam
- tried using the standalone client
- tried to update bios
- launching the game via nvidia experience
- uninstall some windows update
