3. SOUNDBITE: (English) Sead Bekric, blinded in Srebrenica schoolyard attack in 1993:
"The memories from the war will never leave my mind, and for most people, victims of Bosnia war. When I heard that Ratko Mladic was arrested I was truly surprised. I thought that he would not ever see an international tribunal. I was surprised also to see the shape that he was in, that he did not have that network of support that we all thought he did."
4. Cutaway of Bekric looking at photo of himself in 1993 with Claire Halasz, who saw a news report about Sead in 1993 and worked through AmeriCares aid organisation to bring him to the US for lifesaving treatment
5. SOUNDBITE: (English) Sead Bekric, blinded in Srebrenica schoolyard attack in 1993:
"When you go through horror that we went through, and losing our loved ones through horrible crimes, you'll never have closure. It is good to know that world is standing up to those responsible, but for the victims, it will never be closure."

7. SOUNDBITE: (English) Sead Bekric, blinded in Srebrenica schoolyard attack in 1993:
"When I arrived in Los Angeles to UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute, I went through big surgeries. I had my nose shattered in pieces, I had my left eye completely blown out of my head and the shrapnel exited of my right eye. I had to go through major surgeries, they had to take bones, they took my skull from ear to ear, take bones from top of my skull, and make my face again - make my nose, and rebuild my facial structure again. It was, I wouldn't say painful surgeries because I was lucky to be in best medical care, but it was very hard to live through surgeries and through wounds and you know, being blind after all."

9. SOUNDBITE: (English) Sead Bekric, blinded in Srebrenica schoolyard attack in 1993:
"I've always been a survivor as a kid. One thing that you learned, that you learn in time of war, is survival. And when I lived in Srebrenica from the beginning of '92 to April '93, I had to take care of my family. My father was a strong man, however, he was disabled, he could not hear well. And I had my little brother, and I had my mom and my sister. And I was the oldest boy in the family, so I was forced to watch them die, and myself along with them, or learn to survive and go forage for food. And I would go sometimes for 30-40 miles (48 -64 kilometres) sometimes across the hills and valleys and mountains, returning back to the village where I was from originally, to find food and deliver it to my family. So that helped me in my survival when I came to the United States. I was 14 years-old, but mentally I was more like 20 year-old."
