Fred Yehi vs Jeremy Wyatt
Journey Pro
2019 Kansas City MO
Yehi's Narrative:
"I previously bragged on Jeremy Wyatt in a recent post that covered our 1 hour Ironman Match in 2020. This match was our 1st that took place in 2019. Again 2019 was one of my more important years in the business as far as my growth as a person & performer. I mentioned before how in 2019 wrestling became fun. For Wyatt, he was on his streak as the Journey Pro Champion. He was stringing together great match after great match with the likes of Jon Gresham, Anthony Henry amongst others. I was thrilled to have been on his list. I had another fun main event with one of the best wrestlers I've ever worked in Jeremy Wyatt.
Here's more backstory. I recall initially being contacted to work Wyatt back in 2016 shortly after Mania week. I wasn't that familiar with Wyatt at the time and was honestly caught up in getting my footing in Evolve. There was so much I didn't understand during that time. I'm torn between what a match with Wyatt so soon would have done for me. Would I have learned from working with him? Or was it best that I actually worked him later as we did. If I'm honest, 2016 me didn't get it and I might have deterred Wyatt from ever wanting to work me again. My understanding just wasn't there and I was too high speed. I digress. There was contact and negotiations for the booking and it just tapered off as result of me not replying soon enough. Consider that a blessing lol. After I gained more experience we had great matches that I still enjoy watching and sharing.
Working Wyatt reminded me of my matches with Shane Marx and Jimmy Rave. He's a tremendously gifted worker who's super easy. He's a fantastic ring general and I didn't have to think much neither worry about him keeping up. If Wyatt were in a different location and situation where it was easier for him to travel, he'd be everywhere as well TV. He's that good"
