A prominent activist from India's Dalit community of untouchables has been arrested in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state of Gujarat.
Jignesh Mewani had just arrived from New Delhi where he'd led a protest against recent atrocities on Dalits.
Last month, four young men of the Dalit caste were publicly assaulted for skinning dead cows for leather,
allegedly by cow vigilantes in the town of Una in Gujarat.
