紅領瓣足鷸是一種小型涉禽，屬於鷸科瓣足鷸屬，是三種瓣足鷸中體型最小的。牠們以獨特的旋轉覓食行為和雌雄角色反轉的繁殖習性而聞名。
外觀特徵 :
體型: 全長約 18 公分，比麻雀略大。
喙: 細長、筆直的黑色喙。
腳: 灰黑色，具有瓣蹼，方便在水中游泳。
羽色: 雌雄個體在繁殖期羽色差異明顯。
雌鳥: 頭頂、後頸和背部深灰色，臉頰黑色，喉部白色，頸部和胸部栗紅色。翅膀上有一條白色翼帶。
雄鳥: 羽色較雌鳥暗淡，整體偏灰褐色，頸部和胸部的栗紅色較淺。
分佈和棲息地
繁殖地: 北美和歐亞大陸的北極苔原地區。
遷徙路線: 遷徙距離長，途經海洋和沿海地區。
越冬地: 熱帶海洋，例如南美洲、阿拉伯海、菲律賓、印尼等海域。

Red-collared Sandpiper
The red-collared sandpiper is a small wading bird belonging to the genus Sandpiper in the family Snipeidae. It is the smallest of the three types of sandpipers. They are known for their unique rotating feeding behavior and breeding habits in which male and female roles are reversed.
Appearance features:
Size: About 18 cm in total length, slightly larger than a sparrow.
Beak: Slender, straight black beak.
Feet: Gray-black, with webbed feet for easy swimming in water.
Plumage color: The plumage color of male and female individuals is obviously different during the breeding season.
Female bird: dark gray head, nape and back, black cheeks, white throat, maroon neck and chest. There is a white wing band on the wings.
Male bird: The plumage color is darker than that of the female bird, with an overall grayish brown color, and the chestnut color on the neck and chest is lighter.
Distribution and habitat
Breeding range: Arctic tundra areas of North America and Eurasia.
Migration routes: Migrate over long distances through oceans and coastal areas.
Wintering place: Tropical oceans, such as South America, Arabian Sea, Philippines, Indonesia and other waters.
Taiwan: Mainly appears in coastal wetlands, fish ponds or the sea during the transit period in spring and autumn.
Behavior:
Foraging: The red-collared sandpiper will spin rapidly on the water surface to form a vortex, which will roll plankton and small invertebrates in the water to the surface for easy hunting.
Reproduction:
The female will woo the male and lay 3-4 eggs.
