In 2009, director Alex Turner returns to the genre with Red Sands, written by Simon Barrett. This duo previously brought us the Lovecraftian Civil War tale Dead Birds. In their latest effort Shane West, Leonard Roberts, JK Simmons, Brendan Miller, Aldis Hodge, Theo Rossi and Noel Gugliemi are soldiers serving in the Middle East. When they destroy a statue, they're visited by a malevolent force.
The music track that kicks in around :40 is a song called "Here and Now" by The Ernies.
