A Irish Rail Intecity Railcar train arrives at Kilcock Railway Station heading eastbound from Sligo Mac Diarmada to Connolly Station Dublin. This station, located at Shaw Bridge opened in 1998. The previous station opened in 1850, but closed in 1963 and is located to the west of this station. The original station for Kilcock was located close to the current station, but due to the high gradient it was replaced after two years of opening in 1848.

The 22000 Class "InterCity Railcar" is a diesel multiple unit in service with Iarnród Éireann in Ireland. They are the first IÉ DMUs built specifically for InterCity routes. They are capable of 160 km/h (100 mph). Supplied by Mitsui of Japan for initially approximately €400 million, the fleet was built by a partnership between Rotem of South Korea and Tokyu Car Corporation of Japan, who supplied the bogies.
