Labour MP Rosie Duffield has resigned from the party after criticising Keir Starmer’s "cruel and unnecessary" policies and his "managerial and technocratic" style.
In a strongly-worded letter, Duffield expressed relief at her decision and slammed Starmer's team for "sleaze, nepotism, and avarice," following controversies over gifts from donor Lord Alli.
Her swift resignation is a blow to Starmer, who is already facing criticism in his early months as Prime Minister.
Duffield condemned Labour's leadership for accepting the gifts and criticised unpopular decisions, such as maintaining the two-child benefit limit and cutting pensioner winter fuel payments.
