The British Museum’s Islamic collection, in Rooms 42-43, comprises a broad and diverse spectrum of the cultural artefacts from an immense geographic area stretching from the Mediterranean to the Far East, from Africa to China, along a chronological arch that goes from the origins of Islam to the present date. This new Gallery brings together stories of interconnected worlds across time from archaeological material to contemporary art, from the paintings and vessels made for royal patrons to the evocative objects of daily life.
Goppion was consulted to support this project and increase the interaction between masterpieces of art, vision of museum and display case. The company’s innovative solutions have always taken into consideration the symbiotic relationship of art and engineering design.
