The Impact of Social Distancing and the COVID-19 Global Pandemic on Physical Activity in American Youth
This lecture was presented in a series entitled “Impact of COVID-19 on Physical Activity and Mental Health in Youth.”

Objectives:
-Discuss changes in social play and frequency of physical activity in children and adolescents.
-Discuss the impact of household, neighborhood, and community resources on the ability to adapt and alter modes of physical activity.
Kirsten Tulchin-Francis, Ph.D., is the Division Director of Movement Science at Scottish Rite for Children, which has movement science laboratories on both of our Dallas and Frisco campuses. With a background in biomedical engineering, her research interests focus on the use of quantitative methods to assess movement strategies in children with and without sports medicine injuries and other orthopedic conditions, with a primary interest in hip and foot/ankle disorders.
